Responsible in preparing, maintaining, and updating the costs of business activities for raw materials purchases, inventories, conversion costs, traded goods, and manufactured goods.
Record the actual costs information and analyze the variances against the forecasts.
As an essential part of Finance and Operations functions, the Cost Accountant is expected to directly manage costs in a highly professional level in order to support the company's goals.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Material Costing
- Calculate and validate costs for newly created and extended materials
- Update and maintain the Standard DMCs of all materials
- Perform Effective Price temporary changes as needed
- DMC Simulation
- Execute online and offline cost simulations based on proposed changes to cost structure
- Annual DMC Activities
- Prepare and update intercompany and Interplant cost tables on annual basis
- Analyze and update conversion costs, raw materials costs and finished goods and maintain related changes in SAP
- Do costing runs, review and validate the Standard DMCs after the cost release every Jan 1
- Inventory Adjustment
- Prepare inventory adjustments due to cycle counts, material transfers, return stocks, etc.
- Journal Entry Posting
- Process journal entries related to Quarterly Reserves, Unrealized TPA, etc.
- Cost Support
- Prepare and distribute Inventory Obsolescence Reserves reports on quarterly basis
- Analyze and enter applicable reserves for material Write-offs via EAS COPQ
- Analyze variances and actual costs as compared to forecasts (PPV, MV, OMC, FAO)
- Support Finance Operations in building the AOP every year
- Upload and maintain Operations AOP/Budget in _BPC/Anaplan_
- Provide audit requirements as needed
- Scheduled Reports
- Send the team's Dashboard and Flash reports on daily basis
- Prepare and distribute different monthly reports such as Global Inventory Trend and APAC reports - MV Detailed, Actual DMC and Monthly SlowEx., etc.
- Others
- Prepare and continuously update process documentations
- Handle cost-related issues and work towards the resolution
- Coordinate with other functional teams for special projects and cutover requirements
- Initiate process improvements and help in the implementation
- Prepare MBR slide as assigned and participate in the MBR presentation
- POC for the assigned region - Annual DMC activities, Quarterly Obs.
Reserves and AOP
- Perform other tasks as requested by GPO and as designated by the Cost Accounting Supervisor (ad-hoc activities and general office support tasks as necessary
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA a plus
- Minimum of 2 years work experience as Cost Accountant or in similar roles
- Good analytical and business problem solving skills
- Intermediate knowledge of multinational ERP is required.
Exposure to SAP and Business Warehouse are preferred
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Work experience in shared services industry is an advantage
- Proficiency in English communication skills (writing and speaking)
- Willingness to change working hours (i.e.
mid-shift, nightshift) as the business requires
