Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director for Risk and Safety Services, and in collaboration with the Director for the Office of Emergency Services, this position supports the Enterprise Risk Management department and the Office of Emergency Services of the Division of Risk & Safety Services within Administration and Finance. The position is responsible for independently performing administrative duties and/or project work and coordination related to SF State's Continuity program, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the position will support the Clery Director with Clery Act compliance and will coordinate the business continuity and disaster recovery efforts that are integral to the campus Emergency Operations Center.

Position Information
Continuity Compliance
• Independently perform administrative duties and/or project work and coordination related to the campus Continuity Program policies and procedures.
• Assist each campus department in the development of Continuity plans by identifying, prioritizing, and analyzing critical functions essential to operational continuity.
• Ensure proper input and maintenance of Continuity requirements of all campus departments into the Fusion platform. Provide user support and act as liaison with off-campus Continuity system providers as needed.
• Provide initial and periodic training to campus departments.
• Produce various reports, materials and correspondence related to the BC program.
• Ensure completion, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions related to the campus BC program as specified by the Executive Director of Risk & Safety Services and/or the Continuity Advisory Group.
• Lead Continuity meetings and activities; coordinate, set agendas, prepare materials and training, execute and/or participate. Present to large groups and campus administrators.
• Coordinate Continuity document organization, formatting of written plans, and presentation to campus administrators.
• Monitor and update all Continuity website content.
• Serve as Continuity liaison to groups and individuals at all levels of the campus, CSU system and other higher education committees and workgroups related to Emergency Management and Continuity.
• Evaluate effectiveness of Continuity software, electronic tools, and applications; make recommendations and serve on CSU Systemwide assessment teams.

• Serve as the primary contact for the programs; maintain relationships with outside entities or agencies and manage sensitive information and situations.
CLERY ACT COMPLIANCE
• Directly support and serve as backup to the Clery Director as a subject matter expert in Clery Act implementation and compliance by maintaining a working knowledge of all related statutes, regulations, and best practices.
• Participate in periodic review of reported Clery Act crimes, engaging with reporting Campus Security Authorities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting.
• Serve as a member of the Clery Compliance Team.
• Identify and engage with campus partners who deliver programming, reporting, or other activities that fulfill Clery Act requirements and gathering relevant information for inclusion in the Annual Security Report or maintenance of records for audit purposes.
• Collaborate with campus partners to prepare and publish the Annual Security Report and the Campus Safety Plan.
• Interpret and apply various laws, state and federal regulations.
• Interpret and apply CSU policies to ensure compliance.
• Independently compile information, categorize facts, and coordinate statistics as needed for reports, inquiries or special requests.
• Compile documents for distribution by formatting reports, graphs, tables, records and other sources of information.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
• Thorough knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational
knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods.
• Independent determination of approaches to project and priorities. Work is reviewed against overall goals and objectives, with full accountability for results.
• Demonstrated consultative skills in working with internal and external constituent groups.
• Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format and use consultative and
facilitation skills to gain consensus.
• Use of appreciable judgment in the development of policies and procedures related to issues frequently not covered by existing policies and procedures. Precedents and policies to guide development activities may be available for reference.
• Use of appreciable ingenuity and innovation to conceive of new approaches and solutions to address complex problems and issues.
• Serve as the primary contact for the program, specialty, and/or organizational unit. May manage relationships
with outside entities or agencies and manage sensitive information and situations.
Preferred Qualifications
• 2-3 years experience in the continuity field, or related industry sector.
• Obtain Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Experience with developing and implementing training with testing, monitoring, and tracking.
• Experience working in higher education, or government or regulatory setting.
• Customer service experience in higher education or public sector organizations.
• Excellent communication and editing and the ability to clearly and concisely present complex information to a diverse spectrum of individuals.
• Well-organized with special attention to detail.
• Ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages.
• Ability to create and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships and to foster accountability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to problem solve, work with multiple activities/projects and meet deadlines.
