As a Computer Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices. You will provide technical support to end-users both remotely and on-site, ensuring that all IT systems operate effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Assemble and install computer hardware components such as CPUs, RAM modules, hard drives, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).Configure hardware settings and ensure compatibility with software applications. 2. Software Installation and Configuration: Install and configure operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and software applications.Ensure software updates and patches are applied promptly to maintain system security and functionality. 3. Network Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain local area networks (LANs), including routers, switches, and wireless access points.Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure network security measures are in place. 4. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding computer systems, software, and hardware issues.Diagnose and resolve technical problems through troubleshooting steps, either remotely or on-site Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Certification such as NC II in Computer System Servicing or equivalent is desirable.Proven experience as a Computer Technician or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Strong technical skills in computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and software applications.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide clear technical guidance and support to end-users.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with a customer-oriented approach to service delivery.
