A commis chef is a trainee or apprentice who prepares food and assists other chefs in a kitchen. Their responsibilities include:
Food preparation: Chopping, peeling, measuring, and mixing ingredients
Meal preparation: Preparing, plating, and presenting meals as directed by the station chef
Quality control: Ensuring the quality of food services and responding to guest feedback
Communication: Communicating with other cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
