UCT is looking for a talented Programmer II to join us in Cebu! The Programmer will be responsible for programming CNC turret punches and laser, modeling and flat layout of various sheet metal parts, tubular frames, and mechanical assemblies to be used in CNC programming software. They will use customer-supplied blueprints and models to create programs and ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Programmers also analyze, suggest, and lead process improvement projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Creates programs for Turrets, Lasers, and Water Jet by analyzing and interpreting supplied drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Reviews drawings and models for revision changes. Updates programs as needed. Uses SolidWorks software for modeling and creating flat layouts of basic sheet metal parts (Class 1). Operates CAD/CAM software (MetaCam preferred) to produce G-Code for turrets, lasers, and water jet (Class 2). Understands sheet metal shop processes including turrets, lasers, forming, hardware insertion, and welding. Works with other department members to determine manufacturing methods and produce supporting documentation. Reviews job routers for accuracy, including sequence of operations, material usage, and manufacturing notes. Reviews drawings and manufacturing methods for potential issues. Ability to communicate issues and present possible solutions. Meets project deadlines. Develops and embraces new concepts & ideas for improvement and implementation. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in modeling basic sheet metal parts (Class 1) using SolidWorks CAD/CAM software. Blueprint reading / first piece inspection knowledge. Working knowledge of computers and computer systems. Excellent communication and team skills. Educational/Certification Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent experience. Experience Requirement: 5+ years' precision sheet metal experience.
