Qualifications:

Diploma/degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 4 years of running/administrating virtualization solutions.
Very good knowledge of VMware virtualization products (especially vCenter) and preferably VMware Cloud Director.
Very good knowledge in the areas of server virtualization infrastructure, cloud computing, solution automation/integration and ability to analyze complex system setups with experience working in large-scale datacenter/cloud/network environments.
Good knowledge in at least one hyperscaler (e.g. AWS, GCP, MS Azure, etc).
Experience in Java, Javascript, GitHub, Jira, MySQL, SCP.
Experience in server-side scripting and automation code development (e.g. Python).
Very good knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows Server (Active Directory knowledge preferred) OS.
Working knowledge in data networking concepts and technologies.
Experience in interacting with customers and other teams in daily business as well as during escalations.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong team player and excellent communication skills.
Reliable, pro-active, open-minded, and diligent.
Ability to work under time pressure.

Job Description

Augment efforts to further improve and streamline virtual machine processes and operations. Your primary goal will be to operate and maintain cloud virtualization infrastructure and identify potential improvements and simplification of existing processes and infrastructure. Opportunity to directly influence, shape or build innovative automation scenarios to achieve operational excellence. Should have a hands-on mentality and a natural curiosity to learn new technologies

You are expected to:

Be primarily responsible for virtualization infrastructure operations and maintenance.
Consult with our internal lines of business on all matters related to operations and maintenance.
Ensure that all relevant processes, tasks and responsibilities are documented accordingly to prevailing guidelines.
Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and support others in resolving issues.
Show initiative and drive topics to resolution with a high degree of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency.
Lead small projects or projects workstreams.
Perform knowledge transfer to other locations where required.
Willingness to take over weekend work and on-call duty.
Continuously surface automation opportunities and contribute to eventual realization (e.g. code development)
Continuously surface process improvement opportunities and contribute to eventual realization (e.g. process simplification)
