Responsibilities: Plans the administration of nursing services and supervises nursing programs for total patient care.Human Resources Planning.Formulates and maintains policies, procedures, and standards.Maintains an equitable staffing pattern.Provides the objectives and accurate evaluation of nursing records for clinical research and administrative use.Conducts and participates in research.Provides, distributes, and maintains care for nursing supplies and equipment.Maintains good relationships with other services for the good services of the Medical Center of Taguig City, Inc.FUNCTIONS: Planning Functions: Initiate short and long-term plans to achieve the vision, mission, and objectives of the hospital within his/her jurisdiction.Develop policies and procedures within his/her jurisdiction with the approval of the board of MCT.Recommend acquisition of the equipment, facilities, manpower, and programs for the improvement of the hospital services within his/her jurisdiction.Prepare yearly budget for his/her unit.Prepare annual reports concerning his/her area before the end of each year.Organizing Functions: Provide nursing leadership by example.Assist in providing a healthy working environment.Delegate authority and responsibility within his/her jurisdiction.Staffing Functions: Constantly update nursing staff requirements, orientation, and evaluation.Encourage service and personnel advancement.Delegate and define the authority and responsibility of nurses/personnel under him/her.Recommend promotions, awards, honorarium, demotion, and expulsion of subordinates.Directing Functions: Help ensure the realization of the vision, mission, and objectives.Implement the approved policies, rules, and procedures within his/her area of concern.Facilitate the various activities.Exercise supervision both administrative and professional over nursing staff.Facilitate the various activities that will foster training and research of the nursing staff and health educational programs.Encourage affiliation with other training institutions, universities, and medical centers to improve training and education.Controlling Functions: Regularly meet with the different head nurses of nursing units.Establish the Nursing Service Standard Committee to set standards for quality nursing care.
