JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is a key executive responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company. You will play a crucial role in strategic decision-making, financial planning, and ensuring the company's financial health. The CFO reports directly to the CEO and collaborates with senior executives to drive the organization's overall success.
Objectives: Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals.Profitability: Maximize profitability through sound financial management and analysis.Cost Management: Optimize costs and improve overall operational efficiency.Financial Planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company's assets.Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting requirements.Investor Relations: Manage relationships with investors, analysts, and financial stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic plans.Capital Management: Oversee capital structure, financing, and investment decisions.Cash Flow Management: Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.Risk Assessment: Assess and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to minimize exposure.Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.Team Leadership: Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is typically required. An MBA or CPA may be preferred.Experience: Extensive experience in financial leadership roles, with a proven track record of success.Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical skills to contribute to overall business strategy.Leadership: Effective leadership and team management skills to guide the finance team.Communication: Excellent communication skills to convey financial information to non- financial stakeholders.Integrity: High ethical standards and integrity in financial decision-making.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business environments and evolving financial landscapes.Industry Knowledge: Preferably with an in-depth background in renewable energy financial operations (e.g., structuring of deals with financial institutions; and customers) and the regulatory compliances that go with it.
