Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role: The Chief Accountant will lead the accounting operations for the company's healthcare organization. While the primary focus is on the hospital business, this role will also cover other company businesses, including school, realty, and hotel operations. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in the hospital and medical industries, along with a proven track record of managing compliance with government agencies. The Chief Accountant will oversee the finance department, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and work closely with senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations of the organization, including but not limited to general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Ensure timely submission of financial reports to regulatory agencies, ensuring full compliance with local and national regulations.Manage and lead the month-end and year-end closing process.Coordinate with government agencies for tax reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, and financial submissions.Lead the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard the company's assets.Collaborate with senior management to assist in developing the company's financial strategies and ensure the organization's financial health.Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and monitor their implementation.Conduct cost analysis for hospital and medical services, ensuring optimal allocation of financial resources.Ensure compliance with hospital and medical industry regulations, including labor laws, healthcare-related taxes, and other sector-specific financial guidelines.Supervise a team of accounting professionals and provide ongoing support, development, and mentorship.Liaise with external auditors during audits and ensure all audit requirements are met.Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMust be a CPAKnowledge and Experience in BizBox Hospital Information System is preferred but not required if there is an experience in the use of other Hospital Information System.More than 5 years of overall accounting experience, including a minimum of 5 years leading an accounting team within the hospital or medical industry.Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices within the healthcare sector.Experience working with government agencies (especially BIR) and managing government-related financial reporting and compliance.Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or other financial management systems.Strong leadership and management skills with experience overseeing finance teams.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Experience with healthcare-specific accounting practices, including cost control and regulatory reporting.Advanced knowledge of taxation and experience in preparing financial statements, budgets, and audits.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlinesJob type: Permanent
