**Primary responsibilities**
Documentation for a Reports Inventory Catalogue
- Includes creating a repository (can be in excel) to consolidate all reports and dashboards used across various functions (Operations, Finance, Sales, Distribution, etc)
- Includes identifying the business questions that the reports aim to answer
- Includes identifying the metrics being tracked (to be linked to a business glossary)
- Mapping these against the needs of end users etc
- Preferred traits and skills:
- Structured, keen to detail, and organized
- would have to go through BIDA's reports and dashboards to build the repository
- would have to store supporting details for easy reference by stakeholders
- Good business acumen
- able to identify which reports/dashboards are similar and propose ways to rationalize/synthesize
- Good communication skills and collaborative
- would have to collaborate with IT to capture their list of automated reports and have detailed discussions with business leads to validate and understand the use for such reports
Business Glossary/Metrics Definition
- Can be linked to the reports inventory catalogue, which can be in Excel/word doc
- Able to describe business metrics and identify users
- Able to translate metric definition into pseudocode and business metrics formula
- Able to map against system and data sources
- Preferred traits and skills:
- Familiarity with technical documentation, data types, and table structures
- Can read data diagrams/models
- May involve writing BRDs
- Detailed-oriented and can read code (SQL, SAS GE, Tableau)
- Would have to go through BIDA outputs to capture business metrics formula
- Would be able to identify differences in business metrics definition or formula
- Good communication skills and collaborative
- Would frequently be in calls with System SMEs to map business metrics to source systems
Process of executing the report discovery and data mapping
- Must be able to identify potential data attributes that have value for future analytics use cases
- Must be able to identify what other reports/dashboards can be developed given the available data
- Preferred traits and skills:
- Good understanding of digital and insurance metrics and client attributes
- Nice to have:
- Knows back-end data modelling and can read technical documentations.
