Basic Function: The candidate is responsible for answering inbound customer service calls related to patient accounting questions. Answer inbound customer service calls and make some outbound follow up calls in a professional, service-oriented manner. Answer the calls timely without drops/abandons. Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns or problems with the focus on first call resolution Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert Escalate the matter to a supervisor, request the appropriate information or take appropriate action so that the issue expert is able to resolve the matter effectively Leverage knowledge of the insurance claim adjudication process and/or the ability to interpret payer remits to provide explanations to patients about their balances Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Primary workflows include, but are not limited to: take inbound calls from patients with questions about their statements make outbound calls to patients with high self-pay balances to encourage payments take credit card payments for self-pay balances verify sliding fee scales and its associated impact on a given patients self-pay obligations support the capture of insurance information and the process of handing that information to the client site for finalization support warm handoffs, as applicable to client call centers, or client representatives Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: College degree (Preferred) Good English skills both verbal and written Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) 1-3 years experience in a managed care or healthcare environment Significant familiarity and experience with medical billing (HCPCS, ICD-10), medical insurance, and medical terminology Exceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate and professional demeanor with each interaction Must be an effective communicator, able to explain billing resolutions in an informational, influential, concise, and personable manner with outstanding etiquette Address: MOA, Pasay (Hybrid setup) Work Shift: Night Shift
