SUMMARY
The Insurance Verification Coordinator is the employee that verifies the patient's insurance on a
monthly basis. This position at the corporate office, works closely with many other employees,
MD office staff, endocrinology nurses, insurance company representatives and the DME
Operations Supervisor/Patient Care Coordinator Team Lead. The Insurance Verification
Coordinator contributes greatly to the overall satisfaction of our customers, vendors, and
Business associates.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
? Verifies patients DME Insurance benefits on a monthly basis.
? Updates Insurance portal passwords in Brightree.
? Data entry on the DME billing sheet.
? Processes DME patient reports for voice shot.
? Assists with various tasks assigned by the Team Lead.
? Backup to counter partner.
? Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
? Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
? Must be knowledgeable in basic office operations and be able to perform multiple tasks
simultaneously.
? Must be able to work under pressure, delineate priorities when workload is abundant.
? Must be able to represent the company in a professional manner.
? Must maintain HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance
in accordance with the provisions outlined in the company's Employee Manual and
HIPAA manual and understand their obligations under the Privacy Rule.
? Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a "direct threat" to the
health or safety of self or others.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
? High School graduate, or equivalent.
? One year experience, in a similar position, preferred.
