Job Description The Batch Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the concrete batch plant, ensuring efficient and high-quality production of concrete required for roads and bridges projects. The role requires experience in managing plant operations in line with Philippine standards, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with local suppliers. The supervisor will manage the team to meet production goals and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities: Plant Operations: Supervise the operation of the concrete batch plant to meet the specific demands of road and bridge construction projects. Ensure the consistent production of high-quality concrete based on project specifications, considering local material availability and conditions. Monitor the batching process to ensure accurate material measurements and avoid production errors. Quality Control: Ensure that all concrete produced meets the required quality standards in line with both local and international regulations (e.g., DPWH standards, ASTM, ACI). Work with the Quality Assurance team to regularly inspect and test samples, making adjustments to the mix as needed. Safety and Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Philippine health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., DOLE standards, DENR guidelines). Implement safety measures for plant staff and regularly inspect for compliance. Ensure the plant operates within local environmental guidelines, including waste disposal and emissions controls. Maintenance and Equipment: Oversee the maintenance and servicing of batch plant equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency. Keep track of inventory for materials such as cement, aggregates, and admixtures, coordinating with local suppliers for timely deliveries. Staff Management: Lead, supervise, and train plant personnel, ensuring their competence and adherence to operational standards. Assign daily responsibilities to batch plant operators and support staff. Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching or further training when necessary. Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with the Project Manager and other departments to align concrete production with project timelines. Communicate with the dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of concrete to job sites. Liaise with local suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and manage any procurement issues. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production quantities, material usage, plant maintenance, and inventory levels. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on plant performance to the Project Manager and upper management. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in managing concrete batch plants, preferably for roads and bridges projects in the Philippines. Knowledge of Philippine construction regulations and standards (DPWH guidelines, DENR environmental regulations, etc.). Strong understanding of concrete production processes, mix designs, and quality control. Leadership experience in managing teams in construction or industrial settings. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. Familiarity with batching plant software and operational tools. Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
