Automotive And Industrial Paint Technician

Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Prepare automotive and industrial surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking, ensuring the surface is free of imperfections for optimal paint adhesion.
Paint Application: Apply primers, basecoats, clear coats, and other paint finishes using a variety of techniques, such as spray guns, rollers, and brushes, while ensuring an even and consistent finish.


Color Matching & Mixing: Precisely mix and match paint colors to achieve desired hues for both automotive finishes and industrial coatings, maintaining uniformity and consistency across surfaces.
Coating & Protection: Apply specialized industrial coatings, such as rust-prevention primers, high-temperature-resistant paints, and protective finishes for heavy-duty equipment.
Quality Control: Inspect work for consistency, gloss, texture, and durability to ensure the highest quality standards. Identify and correct any issues such as runs, sags, and surface defects.
Repair & Refinishing: Perform touch-ups and repairs on previously painted surfaces, ensuring proper blending and smooth finishes in both automotive and industrial settings.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and booths. Ensure that work areas are clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
Health & Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials. Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of jobs completed, materials used, and time spent on each task. Report any issues or delays to supervisors promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as an Automotive and/or Industrial Paint Technician.
Expertise in surface preparation and paint application for both automotive vehicles and industrial equipment.
Proficiency in color matching, paint mixing, and the application of various paint types (e.g., waterborne, solvent-based, and powder coatings).
Experience with spray painting equipment and techniques, including HVLP, airless, and electrostatic applications.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality finishes consistently.
Knowledge of paint curing techniques, drying times, and environmental factors that affect coating adhesion.
Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical documents.
Physical stamina and dexterity, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
