Aquaculture Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Graduate of BS in Fisheries
•Has experience in the same field of work
•Licensed Aquaculturist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Oversee feeding schedules, ensure that water quality parameters meet required standards to promote optimal growth and reduce disease risk, maintenance of tanks or ponds, and other daily operations
•Track the health, growth, and condition of aquatic species.
•Identify signs of stress or illness in aquatic organisms and coordinate treatment plans with PIO/NBD Head
•Ensure proper functioning of equipment, including pumps, filters, aerators, and monitoring systems
•Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
•Manage inventory of feed, equipment, and supplies; monitor budgets and control costs
•Staying up-to-date with the latest aquaculture techniques, technologies, and research to improve farm productivity
•Managing Expenses and achieving production volume targets
•Supervise and guide aquaculture Caretakers, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring adherence to protocols
