Purpose The Team Leader is an integral part of the accounting team and is responsible for leading, coaching and managing a team of Accountants to ensure that daily, weekly and monthly deliverables are met. The position is responsible for supervising a team to provide reliable, timely and accurate financial data in a dynamic financial environment. This position is responsible for assisting in researching, analyzing complex reconciliation items or issues as they arise. The position also has heavy involvement in projects and serves as subject matter expert or an accounting lead throughout assigned project phases.
Essential Duties Production and Financial Reporting:
? Will handle various Settlement portfolios/markets and is responsible for supervising a team in managing and maintaining set of books
? Review, recommend and train staff on account reconciliations, journal entries and accounting
? Responsible for reviewing and assisting the team in resolving variances in accordance to the standard portfolio maintenance expectation and SOX policy.
? Serve as the first point of contact for any escalation of settlement issues.
? Responsible for the work allocation of staff and adherence to metrics like accuracy, completeness and timely submission of reports, including but not limited to, compliance to daily reconciliation of accounts and quality review of output prepared by Settlement Accountants
? Mitigate risk by timely researching and escalating variances to management and by coaching staff through issue resolution.
? Responsible for meeting the SLA for the month-end closing process for the assigned portfolios; including timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and account schedules.
? Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations with an in-depth analysis and ensure both Balance
Sheet and Profit and Loss cut-offs are accurate and aligned with the accruals made.
? Submit monthly financial statements and close packages and portfolio risk and maintenance rating to the Accounting and Finance management team.
? Ensure all financial information is recorded in accordance with GAAP and consistent with established
? company policy and procedures
? Act as liaison with other departments and external parties concerning accounting information of subsidiaries and other assigned areas.
? Regularly interact with all Accounting, Treasury, Operations and Other Internal Stakeholders affecting Settlement Operations
? Ensure adherence to control activity and other internal control requirements by Sarbanes Oxley
? Analyze and document department processes and procedures and recommend improvements as needed.
? Ensure completion of quarter and annual internal and external audits. Review and approve
completion and accuracy as defined in Settlement internal audit guidelines.
Project, Technology and Efficiencies: ? Lead as subject matter expert on corporate projects, migration and developments.
? Participate in end to end project handling, from kick-off call to post mortem analysis upon project closure. Support SIT, SAT/UAT testings and monitoring of controlling of the deployed project to production.
? Participate on at least one intra-department initiative: (project, committee etc)
? Contribute to the world wide standardization and maintenance onboarding and standard operating procedure docs & production logs; variance and issues logs as assigned
? Participate in Frontier enhancements and process automation, as assigned by management.
? Ensure the consistent application of developed Standard Project Processes and Procedures.
Required Qualifications ? Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Accountancy
? Management /Supervisory experience
? Knowledge in Process Migration or project management
? Minimum of 4+ years of accounting experience
? Skilled in developing detailed documentation and communicating financial information and results
? Strong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems
? Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices
? Detailed oriented and able to set priorities
? Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
? Ability to multitask and prioritize work
Preferred Qualifications ? Reconciliation tool exposure Oracle or any major ERP training
? Sound knowledge on Microsoft Excel
? Credit Card Processing or Bankcard Industry experience
? CPA Certification
? Big 4 experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php70,000.00 per month
