ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Job Summary:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and recording financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in the company's financial data, and supporting various accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of accounting principles to maintain efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and verify invoices, payments, and collections in a timely manner. Reconcile discrepancies and ensure accurate records for accounts payable and receivable.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger by recording daily transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly journal entries.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review. Ensure accuracy and adherence to reporting standards.
Reconciliation: Perform regular bank, account, and credit card reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records and identify discrepancies.
Expense Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines and reporting variances.
Support Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process by preparing reports, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain organized and detailed financial documentation.
Assist with Audits: Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and answering audit inquiries.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
