The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to all relevant tax regulations and compliance requirements in the Philippines. This role involves managing tax filings, conducting tax research, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic advice to minimize tax liabilities and support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance
Prepare and file accurate tax returns (e.g., income tax, VAT, withholding tax on compensation, expanded withholding tax, etc) in a timely manner.
Monitor and ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
Maintain comprehensive records of all tax documents and filings.
Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required (e.g. annual or interim audits)
2. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the company adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements, including BIR, SEC, Local Government Unit (LGU) and other local agencies.
Monitor changes in tax and regulatory laws and update the company's policies and procedures accordingly.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
3. Tax Planning and Advisory:
Provide strategic tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits.
Assist in the development and implementation of tax-efficient structures and transactions.
Support the Finance team with tax-related aspects of business operations and projects.
4. Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare detailed tax reports and documentation for management review.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax information in financial statements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and best practices.
5. Coordination and Support:
Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance and support business objectives.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reportorial reports
Provide training and support to staff on tax and compliance-related matters.
Manage relationships with external consultants and advisors.
6. Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate tax and compliance risks.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize risk exposure.
Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is preferred.
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in tax compliance and regulatory compliance in the Philippines.
Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Experience with tax planning and strategy development.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid work set-up ( 4 days on-site, 1 day WFH) with occasional travel for meetings and training.
May require working extended hours during peak filing periods.

Pay: Php28,000.00 - Php30,000.00 per month
