Accounting Manager

Details of the offer

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
2. Ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
3. Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing explanations.
4. Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial projections.
5. Monitor budgetary control and report variances with recommendations to management.
6. Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.
7. Review and approve reconciliations of key accounts, such as bank statements, inventory, and intercompany transactions.
8. Prepare for external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
9. Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
10. Supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities.
11. Conduct performance evaluations and set goals for team members to support individual growth.
12. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reduce inefficiencies.
13. Implement best practices for financial management and reporting, including automation where possible.
14. Ensure accurate and timely filing of all company taxes, including payroll, sales, and corporate income tax.
15. Work with tax advisors to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements.
16. Serve as a key point of contact between the accounting department and other departments, fostering collaboration.
17. Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
2. 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial reporting systems.
4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
5. In-depth knowledge of financial accounting and GAAP principles.
6. Effective team leadership and people management.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills.
8. Ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic work environments.
