Job DescriptionThe role involves generating, reviewing, consolidating, and analyzing financial statements from head office to depot, providing management with an accurate picture of the company's overall financial performance. The position also requires adherence to sound accounting standards, principles, and control procedures, as well as effective management of the Financial Accounting Section.
The position reports administratively to the President of the spin-off company and functionally to the Assistant Manager - Accounting to ensure the implementation of sound accounting systems, controls, and standards, delivering high-level financial output and increased departmental productivity and efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesAdminister and monitor the financial system to ensure accurate and timely maintenance of the company's finances.Prepare and review annual and semi-annual budgets.Establish, maintain, and reconcile the general ledger.Check AP vouchers for payment.Prepare and reconcile bank statements, coordinating with the Treasury Department on unreconciled transactions.Monitor the company's loans and borrowings.Reconcile GL/SL Accounts and perform any necessary approved adjustments.Check GL entries of Audit & System's SOP formats.General AccountingMaintain the books of accounts and prepare the financial statements of the company.Ensure all transactions are posted correctly in AXAPTA.Record monthly Journal Vouchers for Rent Expense/Income and amortization of prepayment accounts for stock and car insurance in AXAPTA GL.Reconcile Subsidiary ledger balances of Inventory, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash in Bank, Due to/from subsidiaries, Company advances, and Inventory Loss/Gain against Subsidiary Ledgers.Recommend improvements to the existing system in coordination with ITD.Assist in the annual audit.Check and prepare summaries for Revolving fund liquidation and Petty Cash Fund.Prepare and check monthly incentives and ensure timely credit to employees' accounts.Reconcile PO posted versus actual payments for importation.Update and monitor daily showroom sales and collections.File Tax Returns in the Electronic Filing and Payment System.Check monthly withholding tax, SSS, HDMF, and Pag-ibig remittances.Administer Period/Year-end Closing in AXAPTA.Manage process improvement and cost savings strategies.Coordinate with the Financial Planning & Services Supervisor in budget formulation.Analyze the spin-off company's Advertising and Promotions' Budget folders' expenses for the fiscal year.ReportsGenerate, analyze, and submit the company's Financial Statements and discuss them with the President.Provide management reports on the company's financial statements and performance.Initiate meetings with spin-off company personnel to discuss and resolve accounting-related issues.Check consolidated depot daily reports on sales, accounts receivables, inventory, and other monitoring reports.Ensure accuracy of generated reports prior to submission to concerned departments.Update and summarize the following reports:Disbursement ReportSummary of monthly advances of Holding Company to its affiliate companiesYear-End Financial StatementsRequirementsBachelor's/College Degree, Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam) in Accountancy.3-5 years of experience in Finance - General/Cost Accounting or equivalent.Knowledgeable in standard costing application; analytical with strong problem-solving skills.Good oral and written communication skills; flexible with sound work ethics.Knowledge in Fixed asset accounting; detail-oriented with Microsoft Dynamics background.Strong Accounting background, particularly in FS Preparation, Analysis, and presentation; highly analytical with error detection and correction skills.Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Dynamics ERP system.Able to offer advanced solutions based on collected, summarized, and analyzed data.Able to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports, statements, and projections; can work with deadlines.STAR PAPER CORPORATION
