Accounting Assistant

A. Purpose and Scope
The Accounting Assistant is responsible in providing accounting support - keys daily transactions to the general ledger system, ensures the files are complete and maintained as needed. He will also handle accounts payable duties, check vouchers, journal vouchers and assists the General Accountant.

B. Duties and Responsibilities
• Encodes daily expenses and local payable to accounting system.
• Monitors and reconciles employees' advances and liquidations.
• Monitors closing of Advances to Suppliers.
• Prepares Debit Memo, Journal Vouchers, Accounts Payable Vouchers & Check Vouchers.
• Monitors Amortization of Prepayments.
• Prepares Bank Recon (EWB).
• Prepares and ensures timely remittance of BIR monthly requirements (EWT, VAT).
• Responsible for government statutory remittances.
• Responsible for proper filling of accounting documents.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
