Position Summary: The Accountant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial services. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this position involves actively contributing to the overall success of WPS by collaborating with other departments and ensuring client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the timely and effective delivery of services to assigned clients, including Accounts Payable, financial budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
Participate in client onboarding, collaborating with the sales team to provide a comprehensive view of the client's business.
Ensure excellence in servicing clients, profitability, and satisfaction with deliverables.
Assist in managing financial controls, systems, and associated procedures, including bank reconciliations, debtor & credit reconciliation, general ledger management, and payroll analysis.
Contribute to monthly/quarterly financial reviews with clients and act as a trusted advisor on their financial performance.
Support the monitoring and management of financial key performance indicators and key business drivers for assigned clients.
Assist in the day-to-day management of bookkeeping and accounting practices, providing feedback for operational excellence.
Contribute to the development and improvement of procedures, operational policies, security protocols, and best practices for clients and WPS.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue by building lasting client relationships and presenting business growth opportunities.
Uphold statutory accounting acts, regulations, and statutes.
Promote and model the value of self-improvement and actively seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Requirements
You must have the right to live and work in Australia
Tertiary qualification in accounting required.
CPA or CA Professional Membership desirable.
BAS Agent Qualification desirable.
2+ years' experience as an accountant in a mid-size company.
Experience with cloud accounting software packages, including Xero & XPM.
Familiarity with Dext, Xbert, and other cloud-based operational accounting systems.
Understanding of Australian statutory accounting policies and procedures.
Ability to analyse, interpret, reconcile, and communicate financial information and management reports.
Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Capacity to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel, Outlook & Word.
Current Australian drivers license is essential
