An Accountant will have substantial accounting and financial reporting knowledge. They should have an advanced understanding of accounting principles and regulatory standards. They provide support in the analysis of financial records and take part in helping management create decisions for the team. Along with technical skill, Senior Accountants must demonstrate leadership capability to be able to act as a Team Lead or Manager to more junior employees. This is demonstrated by enabling other members of the team through mentoring, guidance and training, as well as managing complex project based work. They should also be spending a portion of their time on tasks that are self-generated based on their own experience and knowledge
