The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation provides high-quality TECHVOC education through the GBF Technical Training Center (GBF TTC). Established in 1999 with the vision of strengthening technical training on industrial manufacturing skills, TTC is accredited by TESDA to provide NC2 Certification on Mechatronics. Through its scholarship program "Iskolar ni Juan", GBF TTC provides fully subsidized technical training and board and lodging to senior high school students across the country. The students are also given on-the-job training for immediate application of learnings, with an opportunity to be hired by selected companies after their OJT. We seek an experienced Academic Head to lead our faculty, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning while fostering a supportive and engaging environment for both students and educators. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid academic background and a passion for technical education, with experience in both industry and academia.
Key Responsibilities: Teacher Development Coach and mentor teachers on effective delivery methods, preparation, and utilization of teaching materials. Organize and conduct professional development programs to enhance teaching skills and educational strategies. Scheduling of Teachers and Classes Develop and manage the scheduling of classes and teachers to optimize resource allocation and ensure smooth operation of the academic calendar Monitoring of School Performance Oversee academic records to minimize student fall outs and ensure high performance. Monitor and evaluate student progress through mid-term, finals, and remedial programs. Involvement with Sourcing and Selection Participate in the recruitment process, including administering diagnostic exams, conducting technical and panel interviews, and selecting scholars for the STEM program. Collaborate with teachers to ensure a rigorous and fair selection process. Teaching Teach at least one STEM subject, demonstrating effective teaching practices and engaging with students directly. Stay current with educational trends and integrate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum. Development of Standard Processes and Systems Establish and refine standard operating procedures and systems to maintain consistency and quality in academic processes. Implement best practices to streamline operations and improve educational outcomes. Preferred Background: A Bachelor's degree in education, engineering, technology, mathematics, or technical vocation or relevant field Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in any of the following technical subjects: (sciences, engineering, mathematics). Experience as a department head, dean, senior instructor, or an equivalent role in a tech-vocational or academic setup. Industry experience in a relevant STEM field, with a total of 5 years combining both industry and academic teaching. Strong leadership and managerial skills Knowledge of TESDA/educational accreditation and assessment processes Effective communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in data analysis and reporting Vision for educational innovation and improvement Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the curriculum Ability to mentor and develop teaching staff Experience in developing and implementing academic processes and systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
