Job Description:
The valet attendant is in charge of finding a good parking space for a guest. In a busy parking lot, most guests and customers prefer to make use of the valet services to save valuable time looking for a space. The valet is the one who parks and retrieves the vehicle for the guest.
Generally, establishments, mostly hotels, employ valets in order to leave a good impression on their guests. Valets should always prioritize giving top-notch customer service and fulfill overall customer satisfaction. Attendants are typically stationed at the front side of the establishment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Valet parking is a customer service provided by establishments like hotels and restaurants which aim to help guests save time in looking for a parking space.
Mainly, valets are responsible for the parking and retrieval of a guest's vehicle. Before taking the vehicle, the valet assesses and documents any vehicle damage. This is to protect the valet and the company from being responsible for car damages he has not committed. Then, the valet records the location of the parking space as well as the number on the valet ticket.
Duties may also include providing instructions to guests on how to check and claim the vehicle, providing travel directions and information on events and promotions, providing accurate and timely documentation and department activity reports, and assisting with staffing, scheduling, evaluating, training, developing, and monitoring staff.
- Greeting guests of the establishment
- Assisting with unloading guests' luggage
- Direct traffic in the parking area as needed and assist guests in entering and leaving the parking lot
- Collect and accurately label keys belonging to guests to ensure their proper return
- Park guests' vehicles in predetermined areas within the parking lot while following all traffic laws
- Operate vehicles safely and responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education:
· Technical or Vocational Course Graduate
B. Experience:
· Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
C. Licenses
· Valid Driver's License (Professional 1, 2)
D. Others:
· Must be willing to stay beyond working/shift hours until works are duly completed and accomplished
· Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and to meet strict timelines
