Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager to support the execution of a comprehensive digital transformation program within a Tier 1 Construction Company. The Survey Manager will be instrumental in pioneering efficient and innovative digital survey methodologies aligned with the company's digital transformation objectives with a primary focus on the integration of new technology and workflows in surveying operations. This includes overseeing the collection, processing, and analysis of data. The role will also be responsible for training staff members on new digital tools and techniques, ensuring all processes are compliant with industry standards.
Your Responsibilities: Demonstrate a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations. Develop and maintain an awareness of company hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimize those risks. Understand and effectively undertake company accountabilities. Awareness and understanding of national and state Safety regulatory frameworks and systems. Has detailed experience in using digital tools and developing workflows for the following:
Improved efficiencies for survey management including requests and processing.
Improving the methods and technology used for setting out survey.
Plant machinery measuring compaction and conformance.
Survey digital data standardisation - asset library, file parameters, to enable conversion of design model into survey requirements.
Earthworks Mass Haul Planning.
Capture drone imagery of site and process the capture.
Use processed drone capture to measure earthworks volumes.
Track machinery on site - cycle times, positioning, ESG, safety.
Track machinery off site - spoil management, material delivery.
Process point clouds captured from terrestrial scans - cloud based, efficient and then report conformance.
Measure progress of construction using 360 degree camera imagery.
Processing Survey Captures to develop Work as executed model to produce an As built model. Accountability as the subject matter expert on digital survey methodologies. Working with other functional leads and working groups to ensure survey systems, processes and procedures are aligned with the wider Group digital strategy; especially with respect to design, GIS, quality, and planning. Ensuring that appropriate plans and procedures are available in the CMS. Regular engagement with key project management personnel to monitor survey performance. The Senior Survey Manager provides leadership to facilitate meeting the development of Survey workflows. Engage with all stakeholders as necessary to implement Digital Survey best practices. Issue directions on Survey related issues. Ensuring role clarity, including responsibilities and reporting lines, exists for team members. Identifying resource and skill gaps and developing strategies to bridge gaps. The Senior Survey Manager is responsible for collaboration with the Discipline subject matter experts including the Spatial/GIS Lead, Digital Engineering Lead, Quality Lead, Project Controls Lead and other Technical Deliverable Leads. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes through regular audit of active projects at least once per year. Immediately act on identified areas of risk to CPB business and its objectives. What our Client is Looking For: Appropriate qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science. Certification - Engineering Surveying Professional – Australasia Pacific (ESP-AP). At least 15 years' experience in the construction industry including at least 10 years' experience at a senior level. Leadership skills. Decisional making skills. Conflict resolution.
