Senior Investment Associate

The Senior Investment Associate will be an integral part of ARQ's Investing team and will assist in pursuit of providing appropriate and innovative private mezzanine investment, and value creation to select promising Philippine SMEs. You will conduct comprehensive due diligence on Philippine SMEs aligned with ARQ's strategy, including financial, legal, and operational diligence, and provide investment committee recommendations. You will contribute to and support internal learning processes that will help shape and influence ARQ's business model to better achieve sustainability and expand its ability to reach scale through appropriate, innovative financial solutions, private sector partnerships, strategic alliances and blended financing to serve the Philippine SMEs.
The Senior Investment Associate will assist and participate at various levels of deal execution and portfolio company investment oversight and management. Activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct due diligence and market validation for potential investmentsBuild relationships with entrepreneurs and investors to gain access to companiesBuild and manage financial models, including underlying project operating pro forma, to analyze and structure investments and evaluate the associated risks.Financial, business and industry due diligence on new investment opportunitiesCompose both investment proposals and briefing memos on new investment opportunities, including term sheet development.Participate in meetings and conference calls with management teams, investors and other intermediaries (investment bankers, business brokers, etc.) for new investment opportunities.Assist in closing new investmentsLiaise for corporate due diligence requirements related to underlying project and portfolio investments.Perform financial reviews of existing portfolio companies and general portfolio monitoring.Assist in preparing business development presentationsQualifications: Strong attention to detail5-7 years full-time, relevant work experience as explained in the prior bullet pointsSolid understanding of accounting and finance.Strong quantitative and analytical skills with extensive financial modeling and analysis experienceExtensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointFamiliarity with debt and project finance transactions and documentation is a plusExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environmentSelf-starter, dependable and reliable, excellent at taking initiative, can work independently without close supervision, and be a supportive team member
