JOB DUTIES
Reports directly to HR/Admin Officer or HR/Admin Head, the Pollution Control Officer/ Safety Officer is mainly responsible in ensuring that the process needed for pollution control and health and safety was established.
AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend to the requirements of the establishment or company including the application and securing of necessary pollution permits and renewal thereof;
Monitor activities pertaining to pollution source and control facilities ensuring their compliance with the air, noise and water quality standards;
Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of the pollution control facilities.
Report within reasonable time to the Department the breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and actual date of completion / repair and operation.
Promptly submit validated/certified as correct by the General Manager periodic reports such as SMR, CMR and CMVR to LLDA and DENR.
Attend the meetings for Pollution Control Officers which may from time to time be called by the Department
Recommend to the management the installation and operation of additional equipment for the pollution abatement facilities
Ensure that processes needed for safety and health management system are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007.
Assist with risk identification, evaluation and development of safe work procedures.
Conduct or have conducted a risk and hazard analysis and take the necessary corrective action and update HIRAC if necessary.
Ensure all accidents are properly recorded, reported and investigated.
Submit Quarterly and/or yearly report to DOLE
Ensure Safety Meetings are held regularly and the results recorded.
Ensure Health and Safety Representatives conduct monthly inspections and submit the required reports.
Established Health and Safety Program and conduct awareness and training if necessary
Ensure personal protective equipment is available.
Ensure that Health and Safety Program was conducted and implemented and established Health and Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team.
Make health and safety warning signs or poster and Safety procedures if necessary.
Make sure that all emergency equipment was serviceable and in good condition.
Ensure that company follows all legal requirements (OHS Legal Requirement Monitoring)
Perform other duties / function in relation to what may be assigned from time to time by immediate superior.
