Job description The Purchasing and Merchandising Manager will have overall responsibility in finding and procuring merchandise that will meet customer needs and achieve company profitability goals. S/he will be highly capable in using data to drive decisions to ensure stock levels, inventory turnover, and pricing are optimal. S/he will also be proactive in finding and building strong relationships with vendors. Finally, S/he will be a strong and caring leader, developing the talents of his/her direct reports.

Responsibilities: Merchandising Strategy: Develop and execute merchandising plans aligned with overall business goals. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for product assortment expansion. Evaluate and select new products, keeping abreast of industry innovations and emerging trends. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable terms and secure advantageous product offerings. Identify suppliers proactively. Sales, Inventory, and Pricing Analysis and Reporting: Use data to make sound decisions on purchasing and pricing strategies. Utilize sales data and analytics to evaluate product performance and make informed merchandising decisions. Generate and monitor regular reports on sales trends, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators. Talent Management and Development: Coach and lead purchasing specialists. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. Superior analytical skills and ability to use data and numbers to drive decisions. Ability to think strategically and with a customer lens, understanding current customer needs and anticipating future growth opportunities. Familiarity with procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other tools used in the procurement process. Nice to have: Proven experience in merchandising, preferably in the office and school industry. Acumatica experience a big plus. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
