What is MST?
Multisystemic therapy. Multisystemic therapy (MST) is an intense, family-focused and community-based treatment program for juveniles with serious criminal offences and are possibly abusing substances.
Purpose of the role:
The Multisytemic Clinician utilises the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) model to develop comprehensive, systemic intervention plans for young offenders and their families. Within this environment, the Multisystemic Clinician provides in-home clinical services to a small caseload of serious and or repeat youth offenders.
The position holder identifies and engages key participants in the young offender’s community and identifies systemic risks and strengths to develop these plans. The Multisystemic Clinician negotiates therapeutic goals and mobilises systemic resources to assist in meeting these goals. The Multisystemic Clinician utilises skills in behaviour management, cognitive behaviour therapy and family/care giver therapy to achieve realistic and clinically appropriate therapeutic goals.
Some responsibilities are:
Deliver clinical services to a targeted complex caseload of young offenders and their families (working primarily through caregivers) including assessments, problem conceptualisation, planning and treatment
Conduct assessments of young offenders, their families and the social and community networks to identify risks and strengths of the systems to incorporate into a therapeutic intervention

Salary from $83k – 97k + super

A rostered day off per month
A mobile phone, laptop, on-call roster allowance included
Generous salary packaging options (up to $15,900 per annum)
Essential Criteria:
Masters degree is highly desirable but not essential
4 year Degree in Psychology or Social Work
Psychologists must have AHPRA and Social Workers must have AASW or eligible
Experience working with youth offenders
Must have skills in behaviour management, cognitive behaviour therapy and family/caregiver therapy to achieve realistic and clinically appropriate therapeutic goals
