Job Description
OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) who will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of systems required in ensuring the quality completion of mobile & equipment maintenance services and optimize the production and efficiency of mobile plant equipment by analyzing and reviewing processes, technologies, and equipment performance.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Engineering Design and Project ManagementEquipment and process AnalysisAssist and coordinate in the condition monitoring analysis, and equipment troubleshooting to identify failure modesMaking decisions on what maintenance type to use to manage various operating conditions and conduct final checking of equipment and recommends releasePlan and estimate required hours of work and skills required to perform the taskResponsible for the maintenance of organized and updated documentation for all maintenance works including safety documentation, work plans, maintenance records, tools and equipment inventories, and all other important data necessary for the recordsProvide reports and activity updates to Superiors and assists in ensuring the timely submission of all types of Mobile Maintenance reportsImplement maintenance activities with the appropriate recording and reporting tools in place to mitigate the risk of any breakdown and reworksReview mechanical plans, specifications, and cost estimatesEnsures all work orders and maintenance logs are closed out when work is finishedFormulate insights and recommendations for modification and enhancement to improve quality and efficiencyDevelops strategies that promote an increase in efficiency and productivityInspection of mechanical equipment and facilities to meet standards set by law and by the CompanyProvide mechanical engineering discipline support to production, maintenance and project teams
Qualifications
Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold WayGraduate in Mechanical EngineeringLicensed Professional Mechanical EngineerMust have a valid Certificate of RegistrationWith at least ten (10) years of solid experience in mechanical system design and analysis preferably in the Mining industryPreferable with four (4) years of active practice as a Professional Mechanical Engineer reckoned from the time he was registered as a Professional Mechanical EngineerWith a valid Professional Driver's licenseWith an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the Mining Act and regulationsCan develop and conduct training modulesWith an Underground Mining experience is an advantageWith good technical writing and communication skillsWith good leadership and people management skillsHave strong planning, scheduling, and effective presentation skills
