onsemi is seeking a BU Product Engineer (PE) for PSG. The successful candidate will have strong technical ability and preferably experience in power products, good communication skills, and be a team player who is able to work with a global team in a matrix-organization structure of a multinational semiconductor company.
Responsibilities:Product owner of assigned devices.Primary point of contact for all operational aspects related to assigned portfolio, including supply chain management, customer service, sales and marketing, technical publications, document control, etc.PE is generally responsible for all aspects of engineering activities associated with the assigned product portfolio.PE will establish relationships with key contacts in wafer fabrication and assembly/test to ensure strong communication and effective problem-solving.PE will facilitate cross-functional teams for problem-solving, including coordination activities with Product Engineers in other regions to achieve common goals.PE will support Customer Return (EFAR) resolution and quality improvements to ensure customer satisfaction.Liaise with related manufacturing operations (test, assembly, probe and Fab) as needed to drive root cause investigations and resolution.PE will work on yield improvements with support from related operations counterparts to reach the set targets.PE will work on cost reduction projects to improve product gross margin and collaborate with related operations and other functional teams to achieve savings.Responsible to provide onsite PE support for Manufacturing operations to enable smooth running of owned products to meet delivery expectations.Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably in Electrical, Electronics or Physics.Min 5 years of device or product and test engineering experience preferable.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in statistical analysis tools such as JMP.Proficient knowledge of power semiconductor devices such as IGBT, Rectifiers and Mosfet.Knowledge of or experience in silicon fabrication, die sales, assembly and testing of discrete power devices is strongly desired.Experience in power modules is a plus.Experience with Silicon Carbide technology is a big plus for this role.
