POLLUTION CONTROL OFFICER & SAFETY OFFICER:
1. Monitoring and Regulatory Compliance
Ensuring the Company's compliance with all environmental and relevant safety laws, regulations, and standards set by the Philippine government, particularly the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and applicable policies set by the city/municipal government.
2. Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Safety Policies
Continuous development and implementation of Safety Policies and EMS to manage and identify significant environmental aspects and impacts as well as safety hazards of the establishment's operational activities and recommend possible mitigating measures in the formulation/preparation and/or review of the Environmental Management Plan, Safety Plan and Contingency Plan
3. Permitting and Reporting
Facilitate the acquisition and renewal of environmental permits and licenses required for the operation of the facilities as well as maintenance of accurate records and documentation related to safety and compliance activities including preparation and submission of periodic reports, incident/accident reports and other documentary requirements of applicable regulatory agencies.
4. Auditing and Inspections
Conduct regular audits and inspections of workplace environment and equipment to assess compliance, identify potential hazards and areas for improvement and recommend and/or take actions for the improvement thereof to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
5. Pollution Control and Work Environment Facilities
Ensure the proper performance, operation, and maintenance work environment and pollution control facilities to ensure compliance with government regulations, including or laws Proper management and control of solid, hazardous waste and wastewater treatment facilities of the establishment;
6. Training and Education
Initiate and intensify environmental management activities and safety trainings including raising awareness campaign among employees regarding environmental issues, hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency procedures and proper use of safety equipment.
7. Emergency Response
Implement and continuously improve emergency response procedures to address environmental and occupational incidents and accidents.
8. Incident /Accident Investigations
Investigate environmental or safety incidents or accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
9. Collaboration and Coordination
Serves as leader of the safety and environmental committee to implement, promote or coordinate safety and environmental programs, initiatives and awareness to various stakeholders as well as affiliates.
