Job DescriptionSummary:
Thesolutionarchitect role involvesdesigningandoverseeing theimplementation ofhome-grown andcommercial-off-the-shelfITsolutionsusing Microsoft Azureand their integration withvarious systems and applications.The roleinvolves collaborating with stakeholders, evaluating technology options, and guiding development teamsto deliver scalable,secureand efficient solutions.
As aSolution Architect, you will:
Design and implement end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Azure services tailored to the oil and gas industry.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop andmaintainarchitectural blueprints, solution designs, and technical documentation.
Lead the integration of various systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.Mentor and guide junior architects and engineers.Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing solutions toidentifyareas for improvement.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our solutionsremaincutting-edge.
Develop and presentproof of conceptstodemonstratethe feasibility of proposed solutions.
Monitor and manage the costs associated with cloud services and solutions.
Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of prior experience as asolutionarchitect,preferablyin the oil andgas industry and5+years of prior experienceas asoftware engineeror similar role.
Skilledin designing and implementing cloud-native solutionsusing awide stack ofMicrosoft Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, amongothers.
Skilled inimplementing various architecture styles, design patterns and bestpracticesforsoftwaredevelopment.
Skilled in evaluating technologyand productoptions,and modern trade-off analysis forvariousarchitecture and design choices.
Skilled inability todesign and implementsecurity best practices and compliance requirements in the oil and gas industry.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communicationand collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar.Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.
Experiencewith data integration, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Experience with IoT solutions and edge computing.
Experience withcontainerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience withmachine learning and advanced analytics.
Experience withCI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
