The primary purpose is to ensure the General Account portfolios (Life and GI) earn sufficient returns to pay policyholder liabilities and shareholder dividends. This involves direct portfolio management, robust investment research and reporting, introduction of new investment outlets/asset classes, and updating of policies and manuals.
Critical AccountabilitiesEnsure the Non-linked funds can fund the policy liabilities and other cash outflows with an Asset-Liability Management perspective for portfolio managementAchieve at least benchmark return with no breach in risk limits as defined in the Risk Appetite FrameworkEnsure investment portfolio's compliance with regulatory requirements, Non-Linked Investment Policy, and Risk Appetite FrameworkMonitoring and efficient management of liquidityWorking closely with the ALM team to optimize asset-liability matching by understanding product level design and characteristicsIntroduction of new investment outlets/asset classes and investment strategies to optimize liability hedging and NIIResearch on alternative ways to (1) improve asset-liability matching (2) uplift net investment incomeScout with counterparties on options for additional asset classesUpdate the policy and manual in line with current and/or ideal practice and consistent with Group standardsProvide views on asset classes and investment strategiesCollaborate with the rest of the Investment Team in identifying areas of opportunities in current market conditionsESG oversight of Non-Linked investment accounts using standard AXA Group level scoring methodologiesProvide ESG related market developments with managementCreate and occasionally present regular market updates in monthly business review meetingsCollaborating with internal counterparties to optimize asset liability matching by providing the IALM team's input on model return assumptions and market scenarios (e.g., Dividends, ECR Runs, etc.)Key Decisions/DimensionsCreating and updating investment plan, deciding on target duration gapConsistently delivering quality fund and market updates to stakeholdersEducational QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management/Accounting, Business Administration; can consider other degrees if there are accompanying certifications and relevant work experience. Certifications like CFA, FRM, Ateneo-BAP's TCP, TOAP's TIFP, PSE Securities Specialist, are an advantage.
Relevant ExperienceAt least 4 years of work experience as an Investment/Credit Analyst, Credit or Corporate Banking or Broker/dealer in a financial institution (bank or a brokerage company) or Research Analyst in an Asset Management company or Trader/Portfolio Manager working in the following roles: equities, fixed income, or derivatives.
