JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a meticulous Internal Estimator to join our client's team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this full-time role is pivotal in supporting the sales and project teams by providing precise product take-offs and detailed quotations. The role demands a strong understanding of architectural drawings and specifications to determine the accurate quantity of materials needed for projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Take-Off Services: Perform detailed take-offs from architectural plans to determine the exact quantities of battens, claddings, and related materials. Quotation Preparation: Generate comprehensive and accurate bills of quantities, ensuring they align with project requirements and customer expectations. Plan Analysis: Analyze construction drawings and specifications to understand project scope and material needs. Product Knowledge: Build and maintain expertise in our product lines, including specifications and applications, to offer precise guidance during estimations. Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with sales, design, and project management teams to align estimates with budgets and timelines. Data Management: Maintain organized and accurate records of take-offs and project documentation. Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing training to refine estimating skills and stay informed on industry trends and product advancements. REQUIREMENTS Experience: Proven experience (atleast 4-5 years) in estimating or take-offs, ideally within the construction or building materials industry. Education: Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimation, or related fields are preferred. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings; experience with estimation software is a plus. Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent calculation abilities and the ability to foresee project challenges. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration. Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
