Job DescriptionSummary of Work Activities and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Grounds, Trees, and Waste Management Section Head, the Grounds Officer oversees the delivery of grounds management/maintenance and waste management services by evaluating campus grounds conditions and monitoring work on grounds repair and grounds preventive maintenance. The position involves managing the work of contractors, who implement the primary service of the Section.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: I. Grounds and Trees Operations Oversees the Grounds Repair and Grounds Preventive Maintenance ProgramOversees the servicing of Ateneo de Manila University Campus grounds job order requests, and preparation of the daily reportDetermines the required scope of work for preventive maintenance procedures and recommends the schedule and frequency of the corresponding services of the contractorAssist the Section Head on evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of current systems and procedures and recommending improvementsGives feedback on the effectiveness of currently implemented systems and approachIdentifies and recommends supplies & maintenance and repairs needs, to be used as basis in the preparation of the corresponding budgetsRecords and analyzes services availed, and costs and expenses incurred as basis for grounds repairs and reference for future budget planningChecks if established operational standards and procedures for Grounds, Trees and Waste Management are being implementedInspects and evaluates the physical condition of Campus GroundsInspects all campus grounds areasAttends to the resolution of concerns/complaints relating to Grounds ManagementRecommends how to compliance may be ensured and partners with clientsMonitors performance of outsourced servicesCoordinates with the contractor on work schedules, assignments, and scope of workGuides the contractors in implementing work policies and procedures and resolving performance challenges, as well as the efficient use and maintenance of equipment and suppliesMonitors contractor performance to ensure specifications and standards are complied with and recommends suggestions for corrective measuresWrites daily, weekly, and monthly corresponding Grounds reportRecord all data pertaining to Environmental Management Board (EMB), Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) and in all aspects of permitsII. Performs other duties that may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representatives Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements At least 1 year experience in managing contractorsHas attended PCO-related trainingsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge: Administration: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminologyCustomer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
