Deals with the quality of food before it reaches the consumer market
Explores the methods of preparing, packaging and delivering food products to consumers
Finds additional food sources, improves the nutritional profile of foods
Researches current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts
Works on packaging innovation and technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production
Develops new food products or technologies to help preserve and package food.
Responsible for the appearance, taste and nutritional value of the food being processed
Selects raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers;
Prepares product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable products
Analyzes the content of the food, determining appropriate levels of protein, fat, sugar, or vitamins
Preservation
Tests food products for nutritional value and preservatives
Distribution
Sets up quality assurance programs to ensure standards of quality are being upheld in the distribution process.
Compiles, checks, and approves product specifications and labeling;
Food Safety and Sanitation
Applies a number of sciences such as microbiology and chemistry into their work to ensure safety, and accuracy
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensures that food that reaches the public is safe for consumption by running tests on both packaging and the food itself
Ensures that processing methods comply with industry and government regulations

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT
 
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology/Chemistry preferred or any related course
EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience in a related role (advantage)
Open for fresh graduates

A genuine desire to ensure availability of clean, highquality foods
Honest and can work under pressure
Excellent organizational and time management skills

Jim Anthony Uy in Cebu City founded the company in 2008. Having worked as a chef in Dubai, Jim Uy created Spice House because of the realization that the city lacked the spices needed to achieve the needed flavoring in the creation of sumptuous dishes.
 
Spice House is actively involved in providing high quality and selective spices, herbs and cooking ingredients to the hospitality industry, restaurants, and caterers. Our product knowledge and qualified team has given Spice House a competitive edge and have successfully created a benchmark that is hard to beat by our competitors. Spice House is proud to supply impressive range of high quality products directly from our local farmers and suppliers.
 
2013 the company is leading to a new line of product, the Sweet Sili and Sili. The company invested in thorough research and study and has come up with the perfect formula for the Sauce. Now, we are focusing on the production of the sauces. We believe that the chili we have here in the Philippines can be a major contributor in the world of success hence, we took advantage of our homegrown crops to come up with very exciting taste for the culinary world.
