Job Description: Acts as the subject matter expert on building infrastructure and systems.Demonstrates knowledge of all engineering related management contract requirements and ensures compliance with contract and reporting requirements.Directs appropriate maintenance to ensure ongoing appreciation of the asset.Manages and controls heat, light, and power; recommends current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.Oversees maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.Develops a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection; oversees execution of plan.Reviews public space walk-through results to ensure buildings are well maintained and operational areas meet or exceed guest expectations.Manages physical plants including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.Participates in developing specifications and requirements for service contracts and administers such contracts to support building needs.Assists in preparation of reports required by state agencies for water consumption, wastewater discharge, and boiler emissions.Researches and analyzes new engineering products on the market.Introduces ideas to leadership to enable property competitiveness.Champions change and ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented.Ensures regular communication in all areas of engineering.Communicates departmental goals clearly to produce desired results.Identifies key drivers of business success and keeps the team focused on critical objectives.Ensures integration of departmental goals in game plans.Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.Builds positive relationships with external customers such as city building/zoning departments and vendors.Oversees maintenance of property life safety systems.Develops and leads the execution of service initiatives in the Engineering department.Monitors Engineering budget.Works collaboratively with other properties, clusters, and lodging brands to leverage resources.Additional Information: Your team and working environment: In 1-2 sentences, introduce the team, property or office environment in a way that reflects the culture.
