Description: With a population of 129,488, the City of Santa Clara is the center of Silicon Valley. The City of Santa Clara City Attorney's Office is welcoming and collegial, providing services with a team-oriented approach. The City recently created this Deputy City Attorney position to provide legal assistance to Silicon Valley Power (SVP) on a wide variety of issues, including assistance with SVP's expanding electric system.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience in utilities and/or public works and prevailing wage issues, professional service agreements, real estate issues, land use (including CEQA), or municipal fees and rates. While direct experience in these areas is preferred, individuals with a solid foundation in municipal law who demonstrate an interest and willingness to immerse themselves in these practice areas will also be strongly considered. Successful candidates will possess a JD degree and maintain active membership in the State Bar of California with significant research experience. Municipal law experience or as a law clerk in a municipal law office is desirable. The annual salary range is $133,228.92 – $172,411.56 and is supplemented by an attractive benefits package.
