CORPORATE PRD MANAGER
(Product Research & Development (PRD))
To be based in Calamba City, Laguna
Job Purpose:
? Responsible for leading a cross-functional team of Food Technologist, Product
Engineers and Design Team, Technical Marketing and Manufacturing Personnel
to develop new products for the Company's continuing quest for leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
? Performs lead role for developing and executing product design; product
development; and product improvement considering Quality, Cost, Timeline and
Shelf Life; and the documentation of all new product concepts.
? Performs lead role in overseeing all activities related to new product
conceptualization, testing and characterization. Attends to critical line trials and
participates in the initial sensory evaluation.
? Facilitates in organizing PRD Team in collaboration with Sales and Marketing
Teams for the collection of test market information or the gathering of insights
generated via market information.
? Performs lead role in the assessment of current market for a need of new
product, identify the quality attributes of a product concept that will not only
satisfy and delight the customers but drives revenues for the company.
? Performs lead role in the bi-monthly Product Idea Bank Update for both Snacks –
Cebu & Laguna and Bakery – Laguna. Assigns, to each PRD Team Leader, the
establishment of Product Idea Bank comprising of product ideas that are within
the capabilities of existing facilities of the company; monitors the implementation
and assess the progress of product development; and evaluate results and
achievements.
? Performs lead role in the bi-monthly Product List Update for both Snacks – Cebu
& Laguna and Bakery – Laguna to firm up Test Market Launch Dates. Calls in
the involvement of other departments to support PRD especially in critical areas
of Operation, Materials Management, Costing, Sales and Marketing.
? Performs lead role in making sure that Product Research Development is
recognized as an important part of the organization's business success. Ensures
that New Product Development's high quality strengthens company's competitive
advantage in the market place.
? Manages department and overall regional programs pertaining to setting
accurate schedules, costs and resources.
? Works with inter-department Project Managers to develop project schedules,
resource and activity allocation for new products.
? Assures the viability, functionality and effectiveness of newly acquired
equipment/machines and other new essential tools.
? Establish and maintain testing procedures for assessing raw materials.
? Manage staff and assignment of staff for full utilization of resources.
? Manage or mentor a team of research staff.
? Attend to industry conferences and present to senior management topics of
interest. Report to senior management on technical issues and developments in
the industry.
Position Qualification:
? College graduate, with Bachelor's Degree of at least four (4) year course
preferably in BS Food Technology, BS Food Engineering and any related course.
? In-depth understanding in Product Research and Development strategies,
principles and dynamics.
? With management experience of at least five (5) years in Product Research and
Development, preferably in Food Manufacturing setting.
? With Basic Sensory Evaluation Skills and GMP/HACCP Training
? Good Leadership and People Handling Skills
? Physically and mentally fit preferably assertive, pro active, open minded, with
excellent communication skills.
? Excellent Technical, Analytical, Problem-solving and Decision-making Skills
? Computer literate (MS/Excel/Power Point Presentation).
