About the role: Are you passionate about planning, implementing, upgrading, or monitoring security measures for the protection of Company systems? We are thrilled to announce a great opportunity to join our team as a Cloud Security Engineer. As a member of the cloud security team, you will be responsible for maintaining and elevating the security across our environments.
Key Accountabilities: Well versed with Cloud Security standards, SDLC and DevSecOps processes and tools. Serve as a subject matter expert for security for applications and processes. Be the single point of contact for Security Central team. Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance to execute security strategies. Assess our current cloud security and propose improvements or solutions across Pearson infrastructure. Drive adoption of security and privacy policies and procedures across ELL products. Review existing applications and software to identify security improvements. Perform application vulnerability assessments and evaluations. Integrate security into the development lifecycle of software (SDLC). Experience, Skills, and Knowledge: Most important skill: self-drive, proactiveness, and passion for work. Previous experience working in an application security role. Good experience in DevSecOps processes. Thorough understanding of cloud and network security and web protocols. Experience deploying services in a multi-cloud environment – AWS, GCP, Azure. Experience using security tools such as: Snyk, Insight AppSec, Qualys Guard. Experience developing software with object-oriented languages. Fluent in one or more programming or scripting languages. Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
