Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers, designers, and drafters.Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and ensure the team meets project deadlines and quality standards.Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.Manage multiple civil works projects simultaneously, from initial concept through final design and construction.Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.Oversee the creation of detailed civil engineering designs, including site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, roadways, and utility infrastructure.Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.Provide technical expertise in areas such as structural analysis, material selection, and geotechnical engineering.Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest level of design accuracy and safety.Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or requests.Present design concepts and project plans to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the design process and final deliverables.Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the civil works department, including identifying new business opportunities and areas for growth.Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the field.Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials.Approve expenditures and oversee procurement processes related to civil works projects.Monitor project financials and report on budget performance to senior management. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required.Strong leadership and team management abilities.In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, design software (such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and construction practices.Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
