The AVP of Business Development plays a vital role in driving the company's strategic growth while ensuring compliance with industry laws and regulations. This leadership position focuses on identifying business opportunities and fostering relationships with key clients and partners, all while mitigating legal risks. The AVP will develop and execute strategies that align with growth objectives, expand market presence, and drive revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning: Leads the development and execution of business development strategies that align with the company's growth objectives, market trends, and competitive landscape.
2. Client and Partner Engagement: Builds and sustains strong, long-term relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes and alignment with corporate goals.
3. Negotiation and Contracts: Leads negotiations for partnerships, joint ventures, and major contracts, ensuring terms comply with legal standards and are in the company's best interest.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Collaborates with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure all business development activities adhere to industry regulations, corporate governance policies, and applicable laws, including anti-corruption and data privacy regulations.
5. Revenue Growth: Sets and achieves business development revenue targets by identifying and capturing new revenue streams while optimizing existing ones.
6. Leadership and Team Development: Coaches and guides to business development teams, fostering an environment of accountability, growth, and high performance.
7. Competitive Analysis: Conducts regular analysis of competitors and market conditions to inform strategic decisions and ensure the company maintains a competitive edge.
8. Reporting:
Regularly reports on business development performance, including key metrics, risks, and opportunities, to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
9. Collaboration: Works with cross-functional teams on special projects or initiatives.
10. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drives innovation in business development approaches, leveraging emerging technologies, market insights, and best practices to stay ahead of industry trends.
11. Innovation in Sales Strategies: Develops and implements innovative sales strategies to penetrate new markets or client segments, utilizing data-driven approaches to optimize outreach and conversion efforts.
12. Conflict Resolution: Proactively addresses and resolves any conflicts or issues that arise in client or partner relationships, ensuring swift resolution that upholds both the company's reputation and legal obligations.
Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Law, or related field.Master's degree (MBA) or advanced certification in business management or law is required.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or senior management position.Proven track record of successfully leading business expansion efforts, closing high-value deals, and driving revenue growth.Strong familiarity with construction-related regulations, permits, contract law, and compliance standards.Leadership and Team ManagementIn-depth knowledge of construction operations, project timelines, budgeting, and contract bidding processes.Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills with experience in securing construction contracts and large-scale projects.Strong understanding of financial principles, including project costing, budgeting, forecasting, Profit and Loss management specific to construction projects.Comprehensive understanding of construction industry regulations, safety standards, environmental laws, and labor laws.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively presenting to senior leadership, clients, and regulatory bodies.Strong analytical skills and ability to manage construction-related crises, project delays, or conflicts, implementing solutions that balance business objectives with legal and ethical considerations.Strong network of industry contacts, clients, contractors, and suppliers within the construction industry.Willingness to travel as needed to oversee business development efforts and manage construction projects across various locations.
