JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team. As an AU General Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, and ensuring adherence to accounting principles, policies, and procedures. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and implement best practices for financial reporting. Additionally, you will play a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Management of ancillary revenue streams, including invoicing and debtor managementManagement of sales settlements including commission invoicing and review of final payments.Daily bank reconciliationsAll general accounting duties - including reconciliation, monthly customer invoicing and debtor management.Weekly vendor paymentsOwnership of the general ledger and its coding and classing accuracyEnd of Month processes including internal recovery journals, prepayments, and accrualsPreparation of monthly group reporting and analysisBalance sheet management and monthly reconciliationSupport and work closely with the accounts assistant (Accts Payable)Assistance with the annual budgeting processLiaise and provide relevant information for external and internal audits.Support continuous improvement in accounting procedures and systems. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Must have at least 1 year of experience in Australian public practice in BookkeepingMinimum of 1-2 years of experience in AU Accounting with a focus on Australian clients preferably real estate-based.Proficiency in accounting software. (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft programs, particularly Excel.Sound knowledge of costing and management accounting practices.Good understanding of Australian tax principles including GST and FBT.Excellent time management skills.Ability to work with a diverse range of people.Reliable internet connection & home office setup. (Preferably i5 specs and 60 MBPS speed.)Can start ASAP.
